Congratulations!

Your invitation to join Phi Kappa Phi places you in a select group of BYU students and faculty.

The only senior students who are invited to join the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi are those whose grade point averages place them in the top 10% of their classes. Junior students must be in the top 7.5% of their class to be eligible to join.

Phi Kappa Phi is officially recognized by Brigham Young University. Members of Phi Kappa Phi can wear the organization's ribbon or medallion as part of their graduation regalia. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is noted on BYU graduation programs.

Please look over this website and the links contained herein for a more detailed description of Phi Kappa Phi, its purposes, goals, and the benefits of membership.

Once you are inducted as a member of Phi Kappa Phi, you remain a member for life. To maintain benefits provided by the organization, you need to be an active member. You can maintain or reinstate active membership by paying an annual fee.

Note that your membership in Phi Kappa Phi is not transferable. Even if you feel that a friend or relative is deserving of the honor, you cannot simply give your invitation to them.

How to Join Phi Kappa Phi

To join the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, just go to http://www.PhiKappaPhi.org/byu.html. You will be asked to provide the access code you were given in your invitation to join. Just submit the online form.  In order to have your certificate available at the initiation ceremony, all responses, mailed or online, need to be submitted to Headquarters no later than January 21, 2008.

What if I want to pay by check rather than credit card?

If you prefer to pay by check ($75 plus $20 per guest for the banquet, payable to Phi Kappa Phi), please follow the above link and complete the Permanent Record of Election form, print it and mail it to Phi Kappa Phi Headquarters, 7576 Goodwood Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.

What if there are problems with the computer accepting my credit card payment?

Don't resubmit the form! Phi Kappa Phi will contact you with details of how to give them the credit card information by phone or pay by check.

What if my parents are going to pay my membership for me?

You may either get the credit card information (name, card number, expiration date) from your parents when you fill out the online form, or you may omit the payment section and give your parents the information on how to pay for your membership? Another option is to give your parents the membership information necessary for the form, and let them submit it for you.

What if I don't know how many people will attend the banquet?

It is easier if you wait to submit the form until you know how many extra tickets you wish to purchase; however, you may purchase extra tickets by sending a check for $20.00 per ticket by Dec. 31, 2008 to

Lawrence Rees
N357 ESC, Dept. of Physics and Astronomy
Brigham Young University
Provo, UT 84602

If you wish to purchase additional banquet tickets after Dec. 31, please send us an email before sending a check, as we may not be able to honor your request.

What if I have questions?

Please feel free to contact us at PhiKappaPhi@byu.edu.
